Right now it’s just downloads, but I’m sure online multiplayer is going to be curtailed eventually as well. As I said last week, it’s inevitable that online gaming services are going to be affected as more and more people are forced inside. Now, Sony only mentions Europe, but this message was shared by the US PlayStation Blog, hinting this will also effect American downloaders. We appreciate the support and understanding from our community, and their doing their part, as we take these measures in an effort to preserve access for everyone. Players may experience somewhat slower or delayed game downloads but will still enjoy robust gameplay. We believe it is important to do our part to address internet stability concerns as an unprecedented number of people are practicing social distancing and are becoming more reliant on internet access. Sony Interactive Entertainment is working with internet service providers in Europe to manage download traffic to help preserve access for the entire internet community. Share play? I have no idea what that is, but if I find out it’s less resources needed to make it function, then it may be a wireless stability issue.Playing videogames enables players all over the world to connect with friends and family and enjoy much needed entertainment during these uncertain times.

480p is excellent for a phone except for reading text off of someone else screen, but other than that, 1080p is high enough quality if you can get those upload speeds. I use 2 mbps on my phone and watch videos without issues at any given time or long time. If the 3 mbps is consistent and stable you can make work.

well what mass improvement is 4K gonna do? I’ve yet to see anything worth buying, cause we are still using progressive scan and I discovered it 2006, and progressive scan is older than that. that’s not gonna do 4K uploads, and even it can, you’ll be better off for 1080p, and if anyone complains. Once you see consistent stable upload for live streaming, then increase the resolution. It really depends what the service needs, what the total bandwidth output is getting and so forth. Which should be 480p, he’ll even lower if the video service allows it. Shareplay? Is that video broadcast? If so, you can still probably see the stability of the connection, but broadcasting at the lowest resolution.
